Mission
The idea for ISTDP International emerged from the recognition that Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) is practiced in different ways across countries and regions. To bring more clarity, quality, and cohesion to the field, a group of teachers, supervisors, and therapists created this platform.
Our mission is to:
- enhance the quality of ISTDP practice worldwide,
- support the professional growth of therapists through education, supervision, and peer exchange,
- foster collaboration among international ISTDP associations,
- uphold the accreditation standards of the International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association (IEDTA).
This website serves as a meeting place for ISTDP professionals: a space to share ideas, discuss challenges, explore theoretical issues, announce training opportunities, and connect with colleagues. By strengthening our global community, we aim to ensure that ISTDP continues to be practiced responsibly, effectively, and with the patient’s needs at the center.
